B18E3-POWER LIFTGATE FRONT ZONE SWITCH CIRCUIT LOWB18E3 - Power Liftgate Front Zone Switch Circuit Low:
WHEN MONITORED
Whenever the Power Liftgate Module is awake.
SET CONDITION
When the Power Liftgate Module senses a voltage of less than 1.0 volts on the (G25) Liftgate Switch Sense circuit for longer than 10 seconds, this code will set.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
- (G25) Liftgate switch sense circuit short to ground
- Liftgate (overhead) switch shorted
- Power liftgate module
Diagnostic Test
1. DTC PRESENT
With the scan tool, record DTC's.
Erase DTC's
Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
Operate the liftgate several times from the overhead switch.
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Q: Does the scan tool display B18E3-POWER LIFTGATE FRONT ZONE SWITCH CIRCUIT LOW?
YES: Go To 2
NO: Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
2. LIFTGATE RELEASE SWITCH SHORTED
Disconnect the Overhead Liftgate Release Switch connector.
Erase DTC's.
Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, read DTC's.
Q: Does the scan tool display B18E3-POWER LIFTGATE FRONT ZONE SWITCH CIRCUIT LOW?
YES: Go To 3
NO: Replace the Overhead Liftgate Switch assembly. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
3. (G25) LIFTGATE SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Power Liftgate Module C2 connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the (G25) Liftgate Switch Sense circuit.
Q: Is the resistance below 10000.0 ohms?
YES: Repair the (G25) Liftgate Switch Sense circuit for a short to ground. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
NO: Replace the Power Liftgate Module. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
