WHEN MONITORED
Continuously.
SET CONDITION
When the Memory Mirror Module senses an open condition on the Mirror Motor Common Driver circuit during a mirror operation, for over 10 ms, this code will set.
NOTE: This test covers both the Driver and Passenger code depending on the side the code appeared in.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
- (P73) or (P70) mirror motor common driver circuit open
- Mirror open
- Memory mirror module
Diagnostic Test
1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, record and erase DTC's
Operate the Mirror Switch in all directions several times.
Cycle the ignition from on to off three times.
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, read DTC's.
Q: Does the scan tool display B1D1B or B1D27 MIRROR MOTOR COMMON CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN?
YES: Go To 2
NO: The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
2. TEST FOR AN OPEN MIRROR
Disconnect the appropriate mirror connector.
Connect a test light between the (P73) or (P70) Mirror Common Driver circuit and the (P71) or (P72) Mirror Vertical Driver circuit.
Operate the mirror switch Up and Down several times.
Q: Does the testlight illuminate when the switch is operated?
YES: Replace the Mirror. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
NO: Go to 3
3. TEST THE (P73) OR (P70) MIRROR MOTOR COMMON DRIVER WIRE FOR AN OPEN
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the appropriate Memory Mirror Module connector.
Measure the resistance of the (P73) or (P70) Mirror Motor Common Driver circuit between the mirror connector and the module connector.
Q: Is the resistance below 2.0 ohms?
NO: Repair the (P73) or (P70) Mirror Motor Common Driver circuit for an open. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
YES: Replace the appropriate Memory Mirror Module. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
