WHEN MONITORED
Ignition on, during the heated mirror operation.
SET CONDITION
This code is set 10 seconds after the Memory Mirror Module detects an open in the control circuit.
NOTE: This test covers both the Driver and Passenger code depending on the side the code appeared in.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
- (C110) OR (C17) Mirror heater driver circuit open
- (C910) OR (C917) Mirror heater ground circuit open
- Mirror heater open
- Driver/passenger memory mirror module
Diagnostic Test
1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, record and erase DTC's
Turn the Rear Defogger Switch On.
Cycle the ignition from on to off 3 times.
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, read DTC's.
Q: Does the scan tool display B1D35 or B1D39-MIRROR HEATER CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN?
YES: Go To 2
NO: The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
2. TEST FOR AN OPEN MIRROR HEATER ELEMENT
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the appropriate mirror connector.
Using a 12-volt test light, connect between the (C110) or (C17) Driver Mirror Heater Driver circuit and the (C910) or (C917) Mirror Heater Ground circuit in the mirror connector.
Turn the ignition on
Turn the Rear Defogger Switch on.
Q: Does the test light illuminate brightly?
YES: Check the mirror/pigtail harness for an open, repair or replace as necessary. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
NO: Go To 3
3. TEST THE (C110) OR (C17) MIRROR HEATER DRIVER WIRE FOR AN OPEN
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the appropriate memory mirror module connector.
NOTE: Check connectors - Clean and repair as necessary.
Measure the resistance of the (C110) or (C17) Mirror Heater Driver circuit from the Module connector to the Mirror connector.
Q: Is the resistance below 2.0 ohms?
NO: Repair the (C110) or (C17) Mirror Heater Driver circuit for an open. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
YES: Go To 4
4. TEST THE (C910) OR (C917) MIRROR HEATER GROUND WIRE FOR AN OPEN
Measure the resistance of the (C910) or (C917) Mirror Heater Ground circuit between the Module connector and the Mirror connector.
Q: Is the resistance below 2.0 ohms?
NO: Repair the (C910) or (C917) Mirror Heater Ground circuit for an open. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
YES: Replace the appropriate Memory Mirror Module. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
