C107F - BRAKE LAMP INHIBIT CONTROL CIRCUIT LOW

- When Monitored:
With the ignition on.
- When Set:
When monitoring the Brake Lamp Inhibit Control voltage drops below range for 300 mSec.
1. CHECK FOR DTC�C107F BRAKE LAMP INHIBIT CONTROL CIRCUIT LOW
NOTE: This DTC must be active for the results of this test to be valid.
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, record and erase DTCs.
3. Cycle the ignition switch from off to on.
4. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display: C107F�BRAKE LAMP INHIBIT CONTROL CIRCUIT LOW?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the ABS Intermittent Condition diagnostic procedure.
- Refer to the ABS-INTERMITTENT CONDITION TEST.
2. CHECK CONNECTOR/TERMINAL FOR DAMAGE
NOTE: Check all terminals for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded terminals.
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Inspect the Anti-Lock Brake Module harness connector, Brake Lamp Inhibit Relay.
Is the Anti-Lock Brake Module or any of the connectors/terminals damaged?
Yes
- Repair as necessary.
- Perform ABS VERIFICATION TEST.
No
- Go To 3
3. (F500) FUSED B+ CIRCUIT
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Stop Lamp Inhibit Relay.
3. Turn the Ignition on.
4. Using a 12�volt test light connected to ground, probe the (F500) Fused Ignition Switch Output circuit.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
Yes
- Go To 4
No
- Repair the (F500) Fused Ignition Switch Output circuit for a open.
- Perform ABS VERIFICATION TEST.
4. STOP LAMP INHIBIT RELAY
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Measure the resistance of the Stop Lamp Inhibit Relay between (F500) Fused Ignition Switch Output circuit and (B45) Stop Lamp Inhibit Relay Control.
Is the resistance between 50�80 ohms?
Yes
- Go To 5
No
- Replace the Stop Lamp Inhibit Relay.
- Perform ABS VERIFICATION TEST.
5. (B45) STOP LAMP INHIBIT RELAY CONTROL SHORT TO GROUND
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Anti-Lock Brake Module.
3. Turn the ignition on.
4. Connect a 12�volt test light connected to 12 volts, probe the (B45) Stop Lamp Inhibit Relay Control circuit.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
Yes
- Repair the (B45) Stop Lamp Inhibit Relay circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform ABS VERIFICATION TEST.
No
- Go To 6
6. (B45) BRAKE LAMP INHIBIT RELAY CONTROL OPEN
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Measure the resistance of the (B45) Stop Lamp Inhibit Relay circuit between the Stop Lamp Inhibit Relay and The Anti-Lock Brake Module.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes
- Replace the Anti-Lock Brake Module in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform ABS VERIFICATION TEST.
No
- Repair the (B45) Brake Lamp Suppression Relay circuit for a open.
- Perform ABS VERIFICATION TEST.
