SUBJECT:
Buzz/Rattle Like Sound In Rear Quarter Panel Speaker Area With or Without The Radio On
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves cutting a tab off of the rear quarter trim panel so that the tab cannot contact the rear speaker grille on both sides of the vehicle.
MODELS:
2005 - 2007 (RS) Town & Country/Caravan
2005 - 2007 (RG) Chrysler Voyager (International Markets)
NOTE:
**This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or after June 1, 2004 (MDH 0601XX) through January 1, 2007 (MDH 0101xx).**
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Buzz/Rattle like sound in the rear quarter panel speaker area with or without the radio on.
DIAGNOSIS:
If the Symptom/Condition is present, perform the Repair Procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Remove the left quarter trim bolster over the speaker. Refer to the detailed service information available in TechCONNECT, under: Service Info, 23 - Body/Interior/Quarter Trim Bolster - Removal.
2. Locate the tab on the quarter trim panel. Cut the tab off of the trim panel so that it cannot contact the speaker grille (Fig. 1).
3. Install the rear quarter trim bolster over the speaker.
4. Repeat Step # 1 through Step # 3 on the right side of the vehicle.
