Outside Rearview Mirror Glass - Removal
REMOVAL
WARNING: Always wear eye and hand protection when servicing the mirror assembly. Failure to observe these warnings may result in personal injury from broken glass.
NOTE: The mirrors glass come in two types, TYPE ONE the mirror glass and frame has to be pried upward to be removed, and TYPE TWO the mirror glass and frame has to be pulled (pried) outward. To tell the difference one mirror glass and frame is thicker than the other.
TYPE ONE
The mirror glass and frame is thicker (Figure 1).

With mirror assembly on the vehicle, move the mirror glass and frame's outward edge of the glass outward and away from the housing and view the thickness of the glass and frame (Figure 2).

1. Using a trim stick or equivalent, with the mirror and frame top edge pulled outward carefully pry upward and till the mirror glass and frame comes loose (Figure 3).

2. Disconnect the heated mirror electrical connectors from the terminals on the mirror glass holder, if equipped (Figure 4).

3. Remove mirror glass and frame from vehicle.
TYPE TWO
The mirror glass and frame is thinner (Figure 5). With mirror assembly on the vehicle, move the mirror glass and frame's outward edge of the glass outward and away from the housing and view the thickness of the glass and frame (Figure 6).

1. Using a Hand, trim stick or equivalent, with the mirror and frame outer edge pulled outward carefully pry/pull outward and till the mirror glass and frame comes loose (Figure 7).

2. Disconnect the heated mirror electrical connectors from the terminals on the mirror glass holder, if equipped (Figure 8).

3. Remove mirror glass and frame from vehicle.
