Timing Belt Chain

INSTALLATION




1. Disconnect the battery.
2. Remove the accessory drive belt.




3. Remove the right cylinder head cover.
4. Remove the intake camshaft.




5. Remove a link from the timing chain (3).
6. Use a temporary link to connect the new timing chain to the old timing chain.
7. Keep tension on the timing chain as the crankshaft is rotated in the direction of engine travel (clockwise).
8. When the new chain is fed completely through the engine, remove the temporary link.
9. Reconnect the timing chain using a new master link.
10. Install the intake camshaft.




11. Install the right cylinder head cover.
12. Remove the camshaft position sensors and verify that the sensor wheel stamps are visible through the sensor holes (5).




13. Install the accessory drive belt.
14. Reconnect the battery.
