Tire Pressure Monitoring

- When Monitored:

With the engine running. Vehicle speed greater than 10 mph (16 km/h).

- Set Condition:

The TPM module has detected an internal fault with the current software load.








Diagnostic Test


1. DTC IS ACTIVE

NOTE: Review the repair history of the vehicle. If the TPM Module has been replaced, ensure the correct part number was installed.

NOTE: Before continuing, ensure the TPM Module has been programmed correctly. Attempt to reprogram the controller and retest.

Turn the ignition on.

With the scan tool, Clear DTCs in the Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) Module.

Start the engine.

With the scan tool, select View DTCs.


NOTE: It may be necessary to drive the vehicle. The vehicle speed must be greater than 10 mph (16 km/h).

Using the scan tool, read the DTC(s).

Does the DTC reset?

Yes

- Go to 2

No

- Refer to the CHECKING FOR AN INTERMITTENT DTC Diagnostic Procedure. Component Tests and General Diagnostics



2. CHECKING THE TPM MODULE POWER AND GROUND CIRCUITS

Using a schematic, inspect the power and ground circuit the are supported by the TPM Module

Were any problems found?

Yes

- Repair as necessary.

No

- Replace and program the Tire Pressure Monitor Module.
- Perform TPM VERIFICATION TEST. Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) Verification Test
