REMOVAL
NOTE: The following procedure applies to center or rear intrusion sensors (also known as interior protection sensors). The front intrusion sensor and the inclination sensor are integral to the Roof Control Module (RCM) (also known as the Overhead Control Panel/OCP control unit or DBE), and are serviced only as a unit with the module.
1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Insert the tip of a trim stick or a similar wide flat-bladed tool into the notch (2) on one edge of the intrusion sensor housing (1) to depress the retainer and carefully pry the sensor downward until it unsnaps from the mounting bracket or the headliner, as the vehicle is equipped.
3. Pull the intrusion sensor unit from its mounting location far enough to access and disconnect the vehicle wire harness from the connector receptacle on the top of the sensor housing.
4. Remove the intrusion sensor unit from its mounting location.
