OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves selectively erasing and reprogramming the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
MODELS:
2007 - **2009** (ND) Dakota
NOTE:
This bulletin applies to models equipped with a 3.7L engine and a 42RLE transmission (Sales Code EKG and DGV).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer may experience that their vehicle transmission remains in "Limp-In mode (second gear) after an engine start. The transmission will not shift to a higher gear. There will be no transmission related Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) present.
"Limp-In mode is used to protect the transmission. The transmission logic will remain in or revert to this mode if certain required operating parameters are not met in a specified time during engine start.
