MYGIG Radio Hard Drive Recovery/Update Disc
THIS BULLETIN SUPERSEDES TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 08-024-08, DATED AUGUST 15, 2008. ALL REVISIONS ARE HIGHLIGHTED WITH **ASTERISKS** AND NOW INCLUDES SOFTWARE VERSION LEVELS FOR THE DIFFERENT SERVICE DISCS BASED ON RADIO SALES CODES.
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves updating the MYGIG radio software with the software update DVD.

NOTE:
This bulletin applies to the above listed vehicles equipped with MYGIG radios (sales code RER, REW or REP)
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Customers may experience a condition where the hard drive becomes corrupt. If corrupt, the radio will have all 3 of the following conditions:
a. The radio does not go past the "Navigation is being activated screen.
b. Music on the hard drive cannot be accessed.
c. Capacity of the hard drive shows 0.
NOTE:
To access the hard disc drive capacity:
1. Press the Menu Hard Key
2. Press System Setup
3. Press Manage HDD
4. Press Display Available Space on HDD
PARTS REQUIRED:
DIAGNOSIS:
If the MYGIG radio has all 3 of the Symptom/Conditions above, perform the Repair Procedure. If the radio does not have all 3 symptoms, perform additional diagnostics outlined in DealerConnect.
NOTE:
Updating the MYGIG radio with this software does not affect the photos or music previously stored in the radio by the customer.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Insert vehicle key and turn to ACC. position.
2. Turn radio ON.
3. Insert software update DVD into radio.
4. Radio will read the disc and prompt user to perform software update.
NOTE:
Radio may take 1 - 2 minutes to prompt for software update. In the following step there are 2 portions to the software update. Radio will reset before and after each portion.
5. If radio software is older than the update DVD software, i.e.; "Update from 8.044 to **9.306 (Sales code REP)** or 9.717 **(Sales code RER/REW)**, select "Yes".
NOTE:
Once software update has begun, do not power off vehicle and do NOT touch the radio.
6. Once software update is complete, radio will return to the normal user screen. Wait for radio to re-read DVD and prompts user to update software again. Software levels shown should now be identical, i.e.; Update from **9.306 to 9.306** or 9.717 to 9.717. Select "No to return to user screen.
7. Eject software update DVD.
8. Turn vehicle off and allow CAN bus to go to sleep (approx. 1 min).
9. Turn key to ON.
10. Select Menu hard key on radio.
11. Select "System Setup" on the display
12. Select "System Information" the display
13. Confirm software display shows the correct level.
