THIS BULLETIN SUPERSEDES TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 08-025-07, DATED OCTOBER 20, 2007, WHICH SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM YOUR FILES. ALL REVISIONS ARE HIGHLIGHTED WITH **ASTERISKS** AND INCLUDE THE ADDITION
OF NEW MODELS, SYMPTOMS/CONDITIONS, REPAIR PROCEDURE AND PARTS.

SUBJECT:
DVD Software Update MYGIG Radio For Many Radio Improvements

OVERVIEW:

This bulletin involves updating the software for the MYGIG radio with the MYGIG radio software update DVD.

**2008 (HG) Aspen**

NOTE:
This bulletin applies to the above listed vehicles equipped with a MYGIG radio (sales code RER, **REP** or REW) built before October 30, 2007 (MDH 1030XX).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

Vehicle operator may experience any of the following conditions:

^ Radio displays "Module Failure".

^ Radio is stuck in "Demo Mode".

^ Disc stuck in radio.

^ Unable to change language.

^ ** Driver Speaker permanently muted after Adaptive Cruise Control warning**

^ **Guidance prompt does not remain in same state after key cycle (ON/OFF)**

^ **Acceptance Screen never times out**

^ **IPhone cannot connect **

^ **Preset stations do not recognize driver 1 or driver 2 memory recalls **

^ **5teering wheel radio switches not functional for volume control**

^ **Displays hard to read when the radio is manually set to dim level # 1 **

DIAGNOSIS:
If the vehicle exhibits any of the above symptoms, perform the Repair Procedure.





PARTS REQUIRED:

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Turn ignition to ACC. position.

2. Turn radio ON.

3. Insert software update DVD into radio.

4. Radio will read the disc and prompt user to perform software update.

NOTE:
Radio may take 1 - 2 minutes to prompt for software update.

NOTE:
In the following step there are 2 portions to the software update. Radio will reset before and after each portion.

5. If radio software is older than the update DVD software, i.e.; "Update from 8.044 to 9.041", select "Yes".

NOTE:
Once software update has begun, do not power off vehicle and do NOT touch the radio.

6. Once software update is complete, radio will return to the normal user screen. Wait for radio to re-read DVD and prompts user to update software again. Software levels shown should now be identical, i.e.; Update from 9.041 to 9.041". Select "No to return to user screen.

7. Eject software update DVD.

8. **Turn ignition key off and wait 1 minute (allow CAN bus to go to sleep). **

9. **Turn ignition key to RUN. **

10. ** Select "Menu on radio.**

11. **Select "System Setup on the display.**

12. **Select "System Information on the display.**

13. **Confirm software display shows version "9.561 for RER/REW or 9.112 for REP sales codes.**
