Starter Motor - Installation

1. Install starter motor dust shield (2).
2. Install starter motor bushing (1).
3. Rotate starter assembly (6) to allow positioning into transmission (5).
4. Install starter assembly (6) to transmission (5).
5. Install two front transmission mount to starter mounting bolts (3) and tighten to 47 Nm (35.5 ft. lbs.).
6. Install transmission to starter mounting bolt (4) and tighten to 47 Nm (35.5 ft. lbs.).




7. Install battery cable (2) and nut (3) to the solenoid stud (1). Tighten to 14.5 Nm (128 in. lbs.).
8. Connect electrical connector (4) to solenoid.




9. Remove engine support tool 8534-12 or equivalent.
10. Connect the negative battery cable, tighten the nut to 5 Nm (45 in. lbs.).
