Sliding Door Handle Inoperative In Sub Freezing Temperatures
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves replacing the sliding door handle cable if the outside door handle becomes inoperative in cold, sub freezing conditions.
MODELS:
2008 (RI) Caravan, Town and Country
NOTE:
This Bulletin applies to vehicles built before April 10, 2009.
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Some customers may experience an inoperative outside door handle on either sliding door in cold sub freezing weather. The customer may notice that the door will still operate normally from inside the vehicle or while using the power assist open feature. This concern is not present when the temperatures are above freezing.
DIAGNOSIS:
If the customer describes the Symptom/Condition, perform the Repair Procedure.
PARTS REQUIRED:
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Following the procedures available in DealerConnect > TechCONNECT under: Service info > group 23 Body > Doors - Sliding > Cable, Outside Handle > Removal and Installation, replace the cable for the outside door handle.
NOTE:
The cable has an improved weather seal on the handle end of the cable. The flexible tip moves with the inner cable for enhanced sealing.
