The charging system consists of:

- Generator
- Electronic Voltage Regulator (EVR) circuitry within the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Electronic Control Module (ECM) for diesel engines.
- Ignition switch
- Battery
- Battery temperature sensor
- Check Gauges Lamp (if equipped)
- Voltmeter
- Wiring harness and connections
