Lower Oil Pan
1. Disconnect the remote ground (1).
2. Open the hood.
3. Drain the engine oil.
4. Remove the engine oil dipstick (2).
5. Remove the oil dipstick tube bolt.
6. Remove the oil dipstick tube.
7. Inspect the oil dipstick tube bolt O-ring. Replace if damaged.
8. Remove the lower oil pan bolts.
9. Use a bolt (2) in the oil pan boss (1) to carefully pull the lower oil pan from the upper oil pan.
CAUTION: Do not scratch or mark the oil pan sealing surfaces as you remove the lower oil pan from the upper oil pan. Use a wooden or plastic scraper to break the RTV seal.
CAUTION: When removing the lower oil pan, be careful not to damage the oil level sending unit (2) or wire.
10. Use a plastic or wooden scraper to remove the lower oil pan from the upper oil pan.
