Checking Engine Oil Pressure







CHECKING ENGINE OIL PRESSURE





Check oil pressure using a gauge at the oil pressure port.

1. Remove the oil pressure port. Oil Pressure Port

CAUTION: Position the oil pressure tester in such a way that it is not caught by the accessory drive belt when starting the engine to test oil pressure.

2. Install oil pressure test gauge. Make sure that the gauge is clear of the accessory drive belt.

CAUTION: If oil pressure is 0 at idle, Do Not Run engine at 3000 RPM.

3. Warm engine to normal operating temperature.
4. Monitor gauge readings at idle and 3000 rpm.




CAUTION: When the throttle is opened, the oil pressure must rise without any delay.
