SUMMARY:
Sprinter is recalling 277 M/Y 2008 Dodge Sprinter 2500 trucks. The rear axle spring leaves were produced with an incorrect raw material. Therefore the leaves are thicker than the serial components.

CONSEQUENCE:
The rear axle springs may fail earlier than designed increasing the risk of a crash.

REMEDY:
Dealers will inspect and replace the rear axle springs free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided an owner notification schedule. Owners may contact Sprinter at 1-843-695-5000.
