B2100-IGNITION RUN/START INPUT CIRCUIT PERFORMANCE

For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information Electrical Diagrams.

- When Monitored:
With the ignition on.

- Set Condition:
The Front Control Module (FCM) will set this DTC if the CAN bus message and the hardwired ignition switch circuit do not match the position of the ignition switch.

1. CHECK FOR ACTIVE DTC

NOTE: With the scan tool, verify communication with the SKREEM/WCM. Diagnose any loss of communication faults.

NOTE: Diagnose any SKREEM/WCM DTCs present before proceeding with test.

1. With the scan tool, read the active DTCs.
2. Cycle the ignition switch from off to on, leaving the ignition on for a minimum of 30 seconds.
3. With the scan tool, read the active DTCs.

Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- If the DTC is stored, check for an intermittent condition. Visually inspect the related wiring harness connectors. Look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded terminals.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

2. VERIFY IGNITION SWITCH STATUS USING SCAN TOOL
1. Using the scan tool, read the Ignition Switch status in the SKREEM/WCM, and the FCM.
2. This information is located in the "Data Display" section for each module.

Does the "Data Display" information on the scan tool match with the status of the Ignition Switch?

Yes

- Go To 3

No

- Using the wiring diagrams and Service Information, diagnose any Ignition Switch faults.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

3. (F20) IGNITION SWITCH SENSE INPUT CIRCUIT OPEN

1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the IPM C1 harness connector.
3. Disconnect the Ignition Switch harness connector.
4. Measure the resistance of the (F20) Ignition Switch Sense Input circuit between the IPM C1 and Ignition Switch harness connectors.

Is the resistance above 10K ohms?

Yes

- Repair the (F20) Ignition Switch Sense Input circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

No

- Replace the FCM.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test
