Knock Sensor - Installation

1. Thoroughly clean knock sensor mounting holes.
2. Install sensors (1) into cylinder block.

NOTE: Over or under tightening the sensor mounting bolts will affect knock sensor performance, possibly causing improper spark control. Always use the specified torque when installing the knock sensors. The torque for the knock sensor bolt is relatively light for an 8 mm bolt.

3. Install and tighten mounting bolts. Tighten to 15 +/- 2 ft.lbs. (20 Nm) (176 inch lbs).







RIGHT SIDE

1. Connect the right side knock sensor wiring harness connector (3) to the knock sensor wiring connector.

LEFT SIDE

1. Route the left side knock sensor wiring harness (1) down the back of the engine.
2. Connect the knock sensor wiring harness connector (1) to the transmission wiring harness sensor connector (2).






3. Install the transmission crossmember (3).
4. Lower the vehicle.






5. Install the intake manifold. Service and Repair
6. Connect the negative battery cable.
