For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information Electrical Diagrams.
- When Monitored:
At all times when battery power is supplied to the Instrument Cluster.
- Set Condition:
When the Instrument Cluster senses voltage to the driver door lock switch between 2.0 and 2.9 volts for over 10 seconds, this code will set.
1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, erase all DTCs.
3. Operate the Driver Door Lock Switch in the lock and unlock position several times.
4. Cycle the ignition from on to off.
5. Turn the ignition on.
6. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display B1803-DRIVER DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK SWITCH INPUT STUCK LOCK?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- The condition that caused this symptom is currently not present. Check for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also, inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals. Repair as necessary.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
2. DOOR LOCK SWITCH SHORTED
1. Disconnect the Driver Window/Door Lock Switch connector.
2. With the scan tool in sensors, read the DRIVER DOOR LOCK SWITCH voltage.
Is the voltage approximately 5.0 volts?
Yes
- Replace the Driver Window/Door Lock Switch.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Go To 3
3. (G161) DRIVER DOOR LOCK SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT PARTIAL SHORT TO GROUND
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Cluster C2 connector.
3. Measure the resistance between ground and the (G161) Driver Door Lock Switch Mux circuit.
Is the resistance below 10,000 Ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (G161) Driver Door Lock Switch Mux circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Replace the Instrument Cluster.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
