B222 -ECU UNABLE TO CONFIGURE / CONFIGURATION NOT LEARNED

- When Monitored:
With the ignition on.

- Set Condition:
The Electronic Overhead Module (EOM) does not receive the configuration information from the Front Control Module (FCM).





1. TEST FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, record and erase any Electronic Overhead Module (EOM) DTCs.
3. Turn the ignition off, wait ten seconds then turn the ignition on.
4. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

Does the scan tool display: B222D-ECU UNABLE TO CONFIGURE / CONFIGURATION NOT LEARNED?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- The condition that caused this code to set is not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition. Operate the system several times and recheck for active DTCs.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

2. CHECK ELECTRONIC OVERHEAD MODULE (EOM) BUSSED INPUTS
1. If equipped with Automatic Temperature Control (ATC), use the scan tool in Data Display and check the Automatic Temperature Control State in the Electronic Overhead Module (EOM).

Does the scan tool display: "Automatic Temperature Control-ON" in the Electronic Overhead Module (EOM) Data Display?

Yes

- Replace the Electronic Overhead Module (EOM).
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Go To 3

3. VERIFY COMMUNICATION WITH FRONT CONTROL MODULE (FCM)
1. With the scan tool in ECU VIEW, read active modules on the bus.

Does the scan tool show the Front Control Module (FCM) active on the bus?

Yes

- Go To 4

No

- No Response From FCM (Front Control Module) Perform the No Response From FCM diagnostic procedure.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

4. CHECK FRONT CONTROL MODULE FOR ACTIVE DTCs
1. With the scan tool, erase FCM DTCs.
2. Turn the ignition off. Wait approximately ten seconds.
3. Turn the ignition on.
4. With the scan tool, read FCM DTCs.

Are any active DTCs present?

Yes

- Testing and Inspection Perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Replace the Front Control Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
