Antenna - Removal
REMOVAL
RADIO
1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the right side cowl trim cover.
3. Reach under the instrument panel outboard of the glove box to access and disconnect the antenna coaxial cable connector (2). Disconnect the connector by pulling it apart while twisting the metal connector halves. Do not pull on the cable.
4. Disengage the antenna coaxial cable retainer at the right cowl side inner panel.
5. Remove the right side wheelhouse splash shield.
6. Unscrew the antenna mast (2) from the antenna body.
7. Remove the antenna cap nut (3) using an antenna nut wrench special tool C-4816.
8. Remove the antenna adapter (4) from the top of the fender.
9. Lower the antenna body (5) through the mounting hole in the top of the fender.
10. Disengage the antenna coaxial cable grommet from the hole in the right cowl side outer panel.
11. Pull the antenna body and cable out through the opening between the right cowl side outer panel and the fender.
SATELLITE AUDIO ONLY
1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Lower the rear portion of the headliner as necessary to gain access to the audio antenna Headliner - Removal.
3. Disconnect the antenna cable(s).
4. Remove the antenna mast, by unscrewing the mast from antenna body.
5. Remove the fastener from the mounting bracket.
6. Remove the antenna bracket.
7. Remove the antenna base from the roof of the vehicle.
8. Remove the passenger side quarter trim panel Quarter Trim Panel - Removal.
9. Remove the passenger side c-pillar C-Pillar Trim Panel-Removal.
10. Remove the passenger side scuff plates Description and Operation.
11. Remove the passenger side cowl panel Cowl Trim Panel - Description.
12. Remove the glove box Instrument Panel Glove Box - Removal.
13. Remove the radio Radio - Removal.
CAUTION: Pulling the antenna cable straight out of the radio without pulling on the locking antenna connector could damage the cable or radio.
14. Disconnect the antenna from the back of the radio.
SATELLITE AUDIO/VIDEO
AUDIO CABLE TO MODULE
NOTE: The antenna cables are integrated into the body harnesses. New antenna cables come as a overlay to the body harness.
1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Lower the rear portion of the headliner as necessary to gain access to the audio antenna Headliner - Removal.
CAUTION: Pulling the antenna cable straight out of the radio without pulling on the locking antenna connector could damage the cable or radio.
3. Disconnect the antenna cable from the module (2).
4. Remove the antenna mast by unscrewing mast the from antenna body.
5. Remove the fastener from the mounting bracket.
6. Remove the antenna bracket.
7. Remove the antenna base from the roof of the vehicle.
VIDEO CABLE FROM VIDEO ANTENNA TO COWL
NOTE: The antenna cables are integrated into the body harnesses. New antenna cables come as a overlay to the body harness.
1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Lower the front portion of the headliner as necessary to gain access to the video antenna Headliner - Removal.
3. Disconnect the antenna cable (3) from the module (5).
4. Disconnect the antenna cable from the antenna base.
5. Remove the passenger side cowl panel Cowl Trim Panel - Description.
CAUTION: Pulling the antenna cable straight out of the radio without pulling on the locking antenna connector could damage the cable or radio.
6. Unplug the antenna cable.
VIDEO CABLE FROM COWL TO MODULE
NOTE: The antenna cables are integrated into the body harnesses. New antenna cables come as a overlay to the body harness.
1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Lower the rear portion of the headliner as necessary to gain access to the module. Headliner - Removal.
3. Disconnect the antenna cable (4) from the module (5).
4. Remove the passenger side scuff plates Description and Operation.
5. Remove the passenger side cowl panel Cowl Trim Panel - Description.
6. Remove the passenger side c-pillar C-Pillar Trim Panel-Removal.
7. Remove the passenger side quarter trim panel Quarter Trim Panel - Removal.
CAUTION: Pulling the antenna cable straight out of the radio without pulling on the locking antenna connector could damage the cable or radio.
8. Disconnect the antenna cable at the cowl.
SIGNAL CABLE FROM RADIO TO COWL
NOTE: The antenna cables are integrated into the body harnesses. New antenna cables come as a overlay to the body harness.
1. Remove the passenger side cowl panel Cowl Trim Panel - Description.
2. Disconnect the antenna cable.
3. Remove the glove box Instrument Panel Glove Box - Removal.
4. Remove the radio Radio - Removal.
CAUTION: Pulling the antenna cable straight out of the radio without pulling on the locking antenna connector could damage the cable or radio.
5. Disconnect the antenna from the back of the radio.
SIGNAL CABLE FROM COWL TO LIFTGATE HEADER
1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the passenger side scuff plates Description and Operation.
3. Remove the passenger side cowl panel Cowl Trim Panel - Description.
4. Remove the passenger side c-pillar C-Pillar Trim Panel-Removal.
5. Remove the passenger side quarter trim panel Quarter Trim Panel - Removal.
6. Lower the rear portion of the headliner as necessary to gain access to the antenna connector. Headliner - Removal.
7. Disconnect the antenna cable in the liftgate header.
SIGNAL CABLE FROM LIFTGATE HEADER TO MODULE
1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Lower the rear portion of the headliner as necessary to gain access to the antenna connector and module Headliner - Removal.
3. Disconnect the antenna connector at the module and in the liftgate header.
