B108E

B108E-INFRARED TEMPERATURE SENSOR INTERNAL

For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information Electrical Diagrams.

Theory of Operation

The Electronic Overhead Module (EOM) receives data from the Infrared Temperature Sensor by means of a dedicated circuit. The EOM sends the IR Sensor data to the A/C Heater Control over the BUS. This DTC has a maturing time of five seconds and a de-maturing time of 10 seconds. If the A/C Heater Control detects a valid in range signal, the DTC will change from active to stored and will stay stored for 100 ignition cycles.

- When Monitored:
With the ignition in run.

- Set Condition:
When the IR Sensor duty cycle is greater than 71.8% and less than 72.0% or the sensor duty cycle is greater than 78.0% and less than or equal to 84.3%

Always perform the HVAC Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.
CHECK THE ELECTRONIC OVERHEAD MODULE (EOM) FOR DTCs
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, read EOM DTCs.
