Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC)

B210D-BATTERY VOLTAGE LOW

For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information Electrical Diagrams.

- When Monitored:
While the CAN bus ignition status received is RUN or if the signal is not available, the module checks the (F100) Fused Ignition Switch Output (RUN only) and (F201) Fused Ignition Switch Output (RUN/START) circuit voltage.

- Set Condition:
If the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) detects battery voltage is less than or equal to 6.25 volts ±0.25 volts on both (F100) or (F201) circuits.

1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC

NOTE: Troubleshoot any PCM charging/cranking DTCs before proceeding. Testing and Inspection .

NOTE: Ensure the battery is fully charged.

1. Turn the ignition on, then off, and then on again.
2. With the scan tool, read Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) DTCs.

Select module and DTC type.

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- Perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM INTERMITTENT TEST. Restraints System Intermittent Condition Test

2. MEASURE THE VOLTAGE OF ORC (F201) FUSED IGNITION SWITCH OUTPUT (RUN/START) AND (F100) FUSED IGNITION SWITCH OUTPUT (RUN) CIRCUITS

WARNING: Turn the ignition off, disconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

1. Disconnect the ORC connectors.
2. Connect the SRS Load Tool Adapter 8443-25 to the ORC harness connectors.

WARNING: Turn the ignition on, then reconnect the 12-volt battery. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

3. Measure the voltage of the (F201) Fused Ignition Switch Output (Run/Start) and (F100) Fused Ignition Switch Output (Run) circuits.

Is the voltage above 6.50 volts for both circuits?

Yes

- WARNING: If the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) is dropped at any time, it must be replaced. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

- Replace the ORC.
- Perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Restraints System Verification Test.

No

- Repair the high resistance (F100) Fused Ignition Switch Output (Run) and (F201) Fused Ignition Switch Output (Run/Start) circuits.
- Perform the RESTRAINTS SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Restraints System Verification Test.
