Liftgate Lamp
LAMP
NOTE: Two versions of the liftgate lamp are available: one using an incandescent bulb for illumination, and one using a Light Emitting Diode (LED) unit for illumination. The external appearance of the two liftgate lamp units is the same as are the service procedures for removing and installing the lamp or the lamp lens. Only the light source is different.
1. Position the liftgate lamp unit (3) to the lamp seat in the liftgate trim panel (1).
2. Reconnect the wire harness connector (2) to the back of the lamp housing.
3. Align the latch tabs on the back of the lamp housing with the receptacles in the trim panel.
4. Using hand pressure, press firmly and evenly on the lamp lens until the lamp snaps into the trim panel.
5. Reconnect the battery negative cable. On vehicles equipped with the optional Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) system, a technician trained in proper HEV service safety procedures must also reinstall the high voltage service disconnect into the high voltage battery pack.
