Removal

REMOVAL





1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the skid plate, if equipped.
3. Remove support crossmember bolts (1) and remove crossmember (2).





4. Remove the caliper assemblies. Disc Brake Caliper - Removal.
5. Remove axle hub nut (1).





6. Remove hub bearing and brake shield.
7. Remove halfshafts. Half Shaft - Removal.
8. Remove the LH catalytic converter. Catalytic Converter - Removal
9. Mark propeller shaft (1) and flange (2) for installation reference.
10. Remove propeller shaft.





11. Remove axle vent tube (2) from the differential cover (1).





12. Support axle with a jack and secure axle to jack.
13. Remove two bolts (1) securing the differential housing (3) to the left engine mount.





14. Remove three bolts (2) securing the axle to the pinion nose bracket.





15. Remove two bolts (2) securing axle tube (1) to the right engine mount.
16. Lower axle from the vehicle.
