REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. The 2nd row Stow and Go seats can be manually unlatched at the floor release mechanism located under the bottom of the seat near the rear of the seat track (1). Pull upward on the floor release mechanism lever (2) in order to release the seat from its floor anchors.(Fig. 1).

2. Stow both 2nd row seats in order to gain access to the underside of each seat. Inspect both 2nd row seats to ensure the floor release mechanism cable housing (2) is properly seated in the cable housing retention bracket (3) (Fig. 2).

3. Was the cable housing properly seated in the cable housing retention bracket on both 2nd row seats?

a. Yes -> Proceed to Step # 9.

b. No -> Proceed to Step # 4.

4. Remove the bottom seat cushion and cover (2) from the affected seat(s) in order to gain access and remove the elastic cushion support (3) to access the inner seat latch mechanism assembly. Refer to the detailed procedures available in DealerConnect > TechCONNECT > under: Service Info > 23 - Body > Seats, Second Row, Stow-n-Go > COVER, Seat Cushion, Stow-n-Go > Removal.

NOTE:
The seat assembly must be in the full upright (non-stowed position) in order to complete this step.

5. With the seat still in the upright position, remove the harness retaining clip (1) from the latch mechanism cover (2) (Fig. 4).

6. Stow the 2nd row seat in order to gain access to the underside of the seat and remove the latch mechanism cover retainer (3) (Fig. 4).

7. With the latch mechanism cover removed, disconnect both tension springs (1) in order to rotate the latch mechanism clockwise (2) and relieve tension on the floor latch cable housing to reinstall it into the cable housing retention bracket (3) (Fig. 5).

8. Reverse Step # 7 through Step # 4 to reassemble and install the seat cushion and cover.

9. Stow both 2nd row seats in order to gain access to the underside of each seat and drill a 1/4"(6mm) hole in the bottom of each seat frame in the approximate location (2) indicated in (Fig. 6) and (Fig. 7).

10. Apply corrosion protection such as 3M 08682 Single step primer (3) or equivalent to the hole drilled in the lower seat frame (Fig. 6) and (Fig. 7).

11. Insert a tie strap through the hole located in each lower seat frame so that it wraps around the floor mechanism cable housing in order to hold it securely into the cable housing retaining bracket (Fig. 7).

1. Return the seat assembly to the full upright (non-stowed position) to ensure it will unlatch from the floor in order to place it into stow mode.

2. Did the seat function properly?

a. Yes -> Return the vehicle to the customer.

b. No -> Further diagnosis is required.
