B198A-ALL DOOR SECONDARY UNLOCK CONTROL CIRCUIT LOW

- When Monitored:
Continuously.

- Set Condition:
When the (P391) Thatcham Secondary Unlock Low Side Driver circuit does not change from low to high for over 10 seconds.





1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. With the scan tool, erase all DTC's.
2. Operate Thatcham in the unlock and lock position several times.
3. Cycle the ignition from on to off.
4. Turn the ignition on.
5. With the scan tool, read DTC's.

Does the scan tool display this DTC?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- The condition that caused this symptom is currently not present. Check for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also, inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals. Repair as necessary.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST Body Verification Test.

2. SECONDARY DOOR UNLOCK RELAY




1. With the scan tool, erase all DTC's.
2. Turn the ignition off.
3. Disconnect the Secondary Door Unlock Relay.
4. Turn the ignition on.
5. With the scan tool, read DTC's.

Does the scan tool display this DTC?

Yes

- Go To 3

No

- Replace the Secondary Door Unlock Relay.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST Body Verification Test.

3. (P391) SECONDARY DOOR UNLOCK RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN




1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the TIPM C7 harness connector.
3. Measure the resistance of the (P391) Secondary Door Unlock Relay Control circuit between the Secondary Door Unlock Relay connector and the TIPM C7 harness connector.

Is the resistance below 10.0 ohms?

Yes

- Go To 4

No

- Repair the (P391) Secondary Door Unlock Relay Control circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST Body Verification Test.

4. (P391) SECONDARY DOOR UNLOCK RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND




1. Measure the resistance between ground and the (P391) Secondary Door Unlock Relay Control circuit.

Is the resistance above 10k ohms?

Yes

- Replace the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM).
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST Body Verification Test.

No

- Repair the (P391) Secondary Door Unlock Relay Control circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST Body Verification Test.
