Theory of Operation

The Wireless Ignition Node (WIN) basestation communicates with the Steering Column Lock module (ELV) following successful authentication with the Fob-in-Key (FOBIK). The ELV then unlocks, allowing the steering wheel to rotate.

- When Monitored:
The WIN checks for confirmation from the ELV that a lock or unlock command was successfully executed.

- Set Condition:
This DTC sets when the WIN detects three consecutive failures to lock or unlock the ELV.

Always perform the WIN Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. Wireless Ignition Node (WIN) Pre-Diagnostic Procedure

1. DETERMINE ACTIVE OR STORED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)

Is the DTC active or stored?

- Go To 2

WIN - STORED DTC

- Perform the WIN VERIFICATION TEST.Wireless Ignition Node (WIN) Verification Test

2. REPLACE THE WIN

NOTE: Ensure the part number of the replacement module is the correct part number for the vehicle.
