Latch - Removal

REMOVAL

Mechanical Release





NOTE: In the event of mechanical or electrical failure of the liftgate latch system, the liftgate can be opened by manually releasing the latch.

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Using trim stick C-4755 or equivalent (2), remove the trim panel access panel (1).






NOTE: Power cinching latch shown, others similar.

3. Reach in through the access opening and lift the lever (1) up and open the liftgate.

Removal





1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Using trim stick C-4755 or equivalent (2), remove the trim panel access panel (1).






NOTE: Power cinching latch shown, others similar.

3. Remove the three screws (3) that secure the liftgate latch to the liftgate (1) and remove the latch.






NOTE: Power cinching latch shown, others similar.

4. Disconnect the electrical connector(s) (1).
5. Disconnect the latch cable (2).
