B223B-VEHICLE CONFIGURATION MISMATCH
- When Monitored:
With the ignition on.
- Set Condition:
The Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) sends a message to the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) that the vehicle is not equipped with an Occupant Classification Module (OCM) but the ORC is receiving OCM messages over the Can B Bus.
1. VERIFY ACTIVE DTC
NOTE: Make sure the battery is fully charged.
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, read ORC DTC.
Does the scan tool display active B223B-VEHICLE CONFIGURATION MISMATCH DTC?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the AIRBAG SYSTEM INTERMITTENT TEST. . Airbag System Intermittent Condition Test
2. COMPARE STORED VIN IN THE TIPM AND ORC
1. With the scan tool in ORC select More Options, ECU Details, compare Original VIN and current VIN.
2. With the scan tool, read and record the VIN that is stored in the ORC.
Does the stored VIN match the current VIN?
Yes
- WARNING: Turn the ignition off, disconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
- WARNING: If the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) is dropped at any time, it must be replaced. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
- Replace the ORC.
- Perform the AIRBAG SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Airbag System Verification Test.
No
- Replace or reprogram the TIPM.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
