Overhead Console - Installation

INSTALLATION

TYPE 1





1. Position the overhead console near the mounting location on the headliner.
2. Connect the reading lamp wire harness connector (2).
3. If equipped, connect the sunroof switch wire harness connector (1).
4. If equipped, connect the Compass Mini-Trip Computer (CMTC) or Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) module wire harness connector (3).





5. Align the snap clips on the overhead console housing with their receptacles (3) in the overhead console bracket.
6. Push upward firmly and evenly on the sides of the overhead console housing over the snap clip locations until the snap clips are fully engaged with the receptacles in the overhead console bracket.





7. Install the overhead console retaining screw (2), located in the front of console (1) near the windshield.
8. Reconnect the battery negative cable.

TYPE 2





1. Position the overhead console (2) near the mounting location on the headliner.
2. If equipped, reconnect the Compass Mini-Trip Computer (CMTC) or Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) module wire harness connector.
3. If equipped, reconnect the sunroof switch wire harness connector.
4. Reconnect the reading lamp wire harness connector.
5. Engage the tab above the front of the console with the bracket above the headliner.
6. Install and tighten the two screws (1) within the overhead console lamp housings.





7. Engage the tab (2) on the rear edge of one lens into the slot in the rear of one of the overhead console (1) lamp housings.
8. Align the lens with the pivots (3) within the lamp housing.
9. Using hand pressure, press firmly and evenly upward on the lens over the pivots until it snaps into place.
10. Repeat Steps 7 through 9 for the second lens.
11. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
