Driver Door Module (DDM)
9003-DRIVER ENTRY/EXIT LAMP CONTROL CIRCUIT LOW

- When Monitored:
Whenever the module is awake.
- Set Condition:
When the DDM senses an excessive current draw on the Driver Entry/Exit Lamp Driver circuit, this code will set.
1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, record and erase DTC's.
3. Open and close the driver door.
4. Wait 30 seconds.
5. With the scan tool, read DTC's.
Does the scan tool display 9003-DRIVER ENTRY/EXIT LAMP CONTROL CIRCUIT LOW?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
2. DRIVER ENTRY/EXIT LAMP
1. With the scan tool, record and erase DTC's.
2. Disconnect the Driver Entry/Exit Lamp connector.
3. Open and close the driver door.
4. Wait 30 seconds.
5. With the scan tool, read DTC's.
Does the scan tool display 9003-DRIVER ENTRY/EXIT LAMP CONTROL CIRCUIT LOW?
No
- Replace the Driver Entry/Exit Lamp.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
Yes
- Go To 3
3. DRIVER ENTRY/EXIT LAMP DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Driver Door Module C1 connector.
3. Measure the resistance between ground and the Driver Entrance/Exit Lamp Driver circuit in the DDM C1 connector.
Is the resistance below 5000 ohms?
Yes
- Repair the Driver Entrance/Exit Lamp Driver circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Go To 4
4. DRIVER ENTRY/EXIT LAMP DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORT TO THE DRIVER ENTRY/EXIT LAMP GROUND CIRCUIT
1. Measure the resistance between the Driver Entrance/Exit Lamp Driver circuit and the Driver Entrance/Exit Lamp Ground circuit.
Is the resistance below 5000 ohms?
Yes
- Repair the Driver Entrance/Exit Lamp Driver circuit for a short to the Driver Entrance/Exit Lamp Ground circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Replace the Driver Door Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
