B1994-LEFT POWER SLIDING DOOR POSITION SENSOR 1 CIRCUIT PERFORMANCE









- When Monitored:
Anytime the Left Power Sliding Door is performing a power close operation.

- Set Condition:
This code will set when the Left Power Sliding Door Motor/Module does not receive the Left Power Sliding Door Sensor 1 Signal pulses.


Possible Causes:






1. CHECK FOR DTCs

1. With the scan tool, record the DTCs and any power sliding door inhibitors.
2. Erase the DTCs.
3. Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
4. Attempt to operate the Left Power Sliding Door.
5. With the scan tool, read the DTCs.

NOTE: If there are any Door Sensor Supply DTCs displayed, repair them first before proceeding.

Does the scan tool display this DTC?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and poor pin fit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

2. CHECK THE LEFT POWER SLIDING DOOR

1. Examine the Left Power Sliding Door for proper alignment, worn or binding rollers and hinges, loose/damaged weatherstrip, and track assembly for wear or anything that would cause an obstruction to proper operation.
2. Manually open and close the Power Sliding Door on a known good vehicle and notice the effort needed to open and close.
3. Compare the effort needed to open and close the door on the disabled vehicle.
4. Especially notice the effort needed to unlatch and close the Left Power Sliding Door.

Does it take more effort to operate the door than it should?

Yes

- Refer to the Service information for the related symptom(s).
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

No

- Go To 3

3. CHECK THE DOOR POSITION SENSOR 1 SIGNAL CIRCUIT







NOTE: At this time it will be necessary to remove the Power Sliding Door Drive Unit Assembly from the vehicle.

1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Remove the Power Sliding Door Drive Unit Assembly from the vehicle in accordance with the Service Information.
3. Remove the Power Sliding Door Module from the track.
4. Disconnect the Power Drive Unit harness connector from the PSDM C2 (component side) connection.
5. Turn the ignition on.
6. With the scan tool, monitor the Position Sensor 1 state.
7. Connect a jumper wire to the Door Position Sensor 1 Signal terminal in the PSDM C2 (component side) connection.
8. Momentarily touch and release the other side of the jumper to the Door Position Sensor Return terminal in the PSDM C2 (component side) connection several times and observe the Position Sensor 1 states on the scan tool.

Does the state of the position sensor change each time the jumper is connected and then released?

Yes

- Replace the Power Sliding Door Drive Unit in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the Power Sliding Door Learn Cycle procedure. Programming and Relearning
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test

No

- Replace the Power Sliding Door Module in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the Power Sliding Door Learn Cycle procedure. Programming and Relearning
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test
