B19A8-LEFT POWER SLIDING DOOR CONTROL CIRCUIT 2 LOW
- When Monitored:
Anytime the Left Power Sliding Door is in a power open or close operation.
- Set Condition:
This code will set when the Left Power Sliding Door module senses voltage less than 0.5 volts on the Left Power Sliding Door Motor Close Driver Circuit for more than 100ms.
Possible Causes:
1. CHECK FOR DTCs
1. With the scan tool, record the DTCs and any power sliding door inhibitors.
2. Erase the DTCs.
3. Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
4. Attempt to operate the Left Power Sliding Door.
5. With the scan tool, read the DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and poor pin fit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test
2. CHECK THE LEFT POWER SLIDING DOOR
1. Examine the Left Power Sliding Door for proper alignment, worn or binding rollers and hinges, loose/damaged weatherstrip, and track assembly for wear or anything that would cause an obstruction to proper operation.
2. Manually operate the Left Power Sliding Door on a known good vehicle and notice the effort needed to open and close for comparison.
3. Especially notice the effort needed to unlatch and close the Left Power Sliding Door.
Does it take more effort to operate the door than it should?
Yes
- Refer to the Service Information for the related symptom(s).
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test
No
- Go To 3
3. CHECK THE LEFT POWER SLIDING DOOR TRACK HARNESS
NOTE: At this time it will be necessary to remove the Power Sliding Door Drive Unit Assembly from the vehicle.
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Remove the Power Sliding Door Drive Unit Assembly from the vehicle in accordance with the Service Information.
3. Remove the Power Sliding Door Module from the track assembly.
4. Disconnect the Power Sliding Door Module connector
5. Using a 12-volt test light, connect one end to the (A959) Fused B(+) circuit and the other end to the (Z908) Ground in the PSD Module connector.
6. Turn the ignition on.
NOTE: The test light must illuminate brightly. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery.
Does the test tight illuminate brightly?
Yes
- Go To 4
No
- Repair the open in the (A959) Fused B(+) circuit or the (Z908) Ground circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test
4. CHECK THE SLIDING DOOR OPEN AND CLOSE CIRCUITS
1. Connect the PSD Module connector to the module.
2. Connect a 12-volt test light between the Sliding Door Open Driver circuit and the Sliding Door Close Driver circuit in the PSD Module C2 (component side) connector.
3. With the scan tool, actuate the Drive Motor Control to Open then Close while observing the test light.
Does the test light illuminate brightly each time the motor is actuated in either direction?
Yes
- Replace the Power Sliding Door Drive Unit in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the Power Sliding Door Learn Cycle procedure. Programming and Relearning
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test
No
- Replace the Power Sliding Door Module in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the Power Sliding Door Learn Cycle procedure. Programming and Relearning
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test
