B19C2-LEFT POWER SLIDING DOOR DRIVE OPEN DIRECTION - EXCESSIVE POSITION COUNT
- When Monitored:
Whenever the Left Power Sliding Door Motor is in operation.
- Set Condition:
This code will set when the Left Power Sliding Door module senses that the Left Power Sliding Door Motor has generated more than 475 pulses during a full power cycle.
Possible Causes:
1. CHECK FOR DTCs
1. With the scan tool, record the DTCs and any power sliding door inhibitors.
2. Erase the DTCs.
3. Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
4. Attempt to operate the Left Power Sliding Door.
5. With the scan tool, read the DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Test complete. The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test
2. CHECK THE LEFT POWER SLIDING DOOR
1. Examine the Left Power Sliding Door for proper alignment, worn or binding rollers and hinges, loose/damaged weatherstrip, and track assembly for wear or anything that would cause an obstruction to proper operation.
2. Manually operate the Left Power Sliding Door on a known good vehicle and notice the effort needed to open and close for comparison.
3. Especially notice the effort needed to unlatch, open and close the Left Power Sliding Door.
Were there any mechanical problems found?
Yes
- Refer to Body and Frame/Doors,Hood and Trunk/Doors/Sliding Doors and perform the appropriate repairs and adjustments. Sliding Door

3. PERFORM THE POWER SLIDING DOOR LEARN CYCLE
1. Perform the Power Sliding Door Learn Cycle procedure (Sliding Door Open/Close Tests). This will set the travel limits. Programming and Relearning
2. With the scan tool, erase the DTCs.
3. Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
4. If possible, operate the power sliding door several times.
5. With the scan tool, read the active DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Go To 4
No
- Test complete. The module has relearned the door travel limits, resistance to door travel, door position, etc. Recheck for any intermittent door dragging or sticking conditions.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test
4. CHECK THE LEFT POWER SLIDING DOOR MODULE HARNESS
NOTE: At this time it will be necessary to remove the Power Sliding Door Drive Unit Assembly from the vehicle.
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Remove the Power Sliding Door Drive Unit Assembly from the vehicle in accordance with the Service Information.
3. Disconnect the Power Sliding Door Module connectors.
4. Remove the Power Sliding Door Module from the track.
5. Using a 12-volt test light, connect one end to the (A959) Fused B(+) circuit and the other to the (Z908) Ground in the PSD Module 6 way connector.
NOTE: The test light must illuminate brightly. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery.
Does the test tight illuminate brightly?
Yes
- Go To 5
No
- Repair the open in the (A959) Fused B(+) circuit or the (Z908) Ground circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test
5. CHECK THE SLIDING DOOR POSITION SENSOR 1 SIGNAL
1. Re-connect the PSD Module C1 harness connector to the module.
2. Turn the ignition on.
3. With the scan tool, monitor the Position Sensor 1 state.
4. Connect a jumper wire to the Door Position Sensor 1 Signal terminal in the PSDM C2 (component side) connection.
5. Momentarily touch and release the other side of the jumper to the Door Position Sensor Return terminal in the PSDM C2 (component side) connection several times and observe the Position Sensor 1 states on the scan tool.
Does the state of the position sensor change each time the jumper is connected and then released?
Yes
- Go To 6
No
- Replace the Power Sliding Door Module in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the Power Sliding Door Learn Cycle procedure. Programming and Relearning
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test
6. CHECK THE SLIDING DOOR POSITION SENSOR 2 SIGNAL
1. With the scan tool, monitor the Position Sensor 2 state.
2. Connect a jumper wire to the Door Position Sensor
2 Signal terminal in the PSDM C2 (component side) connection.
3. Momentarily touch and release the other side of the jumper to the Door Position Sensor Return terminal in the PSDM C2 (component side) connection several times and observe the Position Sensor 2 states on the scan tool.
