B19DE-LEFT SLIDING DOOR HANDLE SWITCH CIRCUIT LOW
- When Monitored:
Whenever the Left Rear Door Module is awake
- Set Condition:
The Left Rear Door Module has detected the Left Door In/Out Handle Switch Sense circuit voltage is below 0.5 of a volt for over one second.
1. CHECK FOR DTCs
1. With the scan tool, record DTCs and any power sliding door inhibitors.
2. Erase the DTCs.
3. Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
4. Attempt to operate the Left Power Sliding Door from the door handle.
5. With the scan tool, read the DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as Active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent occurrence.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
2. CHECK THE (Q55) LEFT DOOR IN/OUT HANDLE SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Left Rear Door Module C2 harness connector.
3. Measure the resistance between ground and the (Q55) Left Door In/Out Handle Switch Sense.
NOTE: Be careful not to spread the terminals in the connector.
Is the resistance below 10,000 Ohms?
No
- Go To 3
Yes
- Repair the (Q55) Left Sliding Door Release Handle circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
3. CHECK THE (Q55) LEFT DOOR IN/OUT HANDLE SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO THE (Q781) LEFT POWER SLIDING DOOR MUX RETURN CIRCUIT
1. Measure the resistance between the (Q55) Left Door In/Out Handle Switch Sense circuit and the (Q781) Left Power Sliding Door Mux Return circuit in the Door Module C2 connector.
NOTE: Be careful not to spread the terminals in the connector.
Is the resistance below 10,000 (10k) Ohms?
No
- Replace the Left Rear Door Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
Yes
- Go To 4
4. CHECK THE LEFT REAR DOOR LATCH.
1. Disconnect the Left Rear Door Latch C2 connector.
2. Measure the resistance between the (Q55) Left Door In/Out Handle Switch Sense circuit and the (Q781) Left Power Sliding Door Mux Return circuit in the Door Module C2 connector.
NOTE: Be careful not to spread the terminals in the connector.
Is the resistance below 10,000 (10k) Ohms?
No
- Replace the Left Rear Door Latch Assembly in accordance the Service Information.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
Yes
- Repair the (Q55) Left Door In/Out Handle Switch Sense circuit for a short to the (Q781) Left Power Sliding Door Mux Return circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
