B1E3D-3RD ROW SEAT FOLD/TAILGATE SWITCH CIRCUIT LOW







- When Monitored:
Continuously.

- Set Condition:
When the Folding Seat Module detects the (P278) Fold/Tailgate Switch MUX circuit voltage is below.9 volts.





1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. Turn the ignition On.
2. With the scan tool, erase all DTC's.
3. Operate the Power Rear Folding Seat Switch Fold/Tailgate button several times.
4. With the scan tool, read DTC's.

Does the scan tool display this DTC?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- The condition that caused this symptom is currently not present. Check for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also, inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals. Repair as necessary.
- Perform POWER FOLDING SEAT SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Power Folding Seat System Verification Test.

2. POWER FOLDING SEAT SWITCH SHORTED TO GROUND
1. With the scan tool, erase all DTC's.
2. Disconnect the Power Folding Seat Switch harness connector.
3. Turn the ignition On.
4. With the scan tool, read DTC's.

Does the scan tool display this DTC?

Yes

- Go To 3

No

- Replace the Power Folding Seat Switch.
- Perform POWER FOLDING SEAT SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Power Folding Seat System Verification Test.

3. (P278) FOLD/TAILGATE SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORT TO (P281) SEAT RECLINER SWITCH RETURN




1. Turn the ignition Off.
2. Disconnect the C392 seat in-line 12-way harness connector.
3. Measure the resistance between the (P278) Fold/Tailgate Switch MUX and the (P281) Seat Recliner Switch Return circuit at the switch connector.

Is the resistance above 10k ohms?

Yes

- Go To 4

No

- Repair the (P278) Fold/Tailgate Switch MUX circuit for a short to the (P281) Seat Recliner Switch Return circuit.
- Perform POWER FOLDING SEAT SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Power Folding Seat System Verification Test.

4. (P278) FOLD/TAILGATE SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND




1. The ignition is Off.
2. Measure the resistance between ground and the (P278) Fold/Tailgate Switch MUX circuit at the switch connector.

Is the resistance above 10k ohms?

Yes

- Gain access to and check the (P278) Fold/Tailgate Switch MUX wire in the seat harness for a short to ground condition or to another circuit. If OK, replace the Power Rear Folding Seat Module.
- Perform POWER FOLDING SEAT SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Power Folding Seat System Verification Test.

No

- Repair the (P278) Fold/Tailgate Switch MUX circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform POWER FOLDING SEAT SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. Power Folding Seat System Verification Test.
