Upper






UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD





1. Clean and inspect the intake manifold gasket sealing surfaces. Install a new intake manifold gasket.
2. If removed, install the throttle body to the upper intake manifold Throttle Body - Installation.
3. If removed, install the Manifold Air Pressure (MAP) sensor to the upper intake manifold Installation.
4. If removed, install the short runner valve solenoid to the upper intake manifold Installation.
5. Install the upper intake manifold (1) and hand start the seven attaching bolts (2).
6. Tighten the bolts (2) gradually starting in the center working outward to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.).





7. Install two studs (2) to the intake manifold support brackets (1). Tighten the studs to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.).





8. Position the power steering hose support brackets (3) on the studs. Install two nuts (1) and tighten to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.).





9. Engage two wire harness retainers (3) to the intake manifold support brackets (1).





10. Install the EGR tube (5) Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Tube - Installation.





11. Connect the following vacuum hoses to the upper intake manifold:
- Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve (3)
- EVAP purge solenoid (1)
- Power brake booster (2)





12. Connect the air inlet hose (5) to the throttle body (2).
13. Connect the following electrical connectors:
- Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) (1)
- Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor (3)
- Short runner valve solenoid (4)

14. Install the engine cover.
15. Connect the negative battery cable and tighten nut to 5 Nm (45 in. lbs.).
