THIS SERVICE BULLETIN IS ALSO BEING RELEASED AS RAPID RESPONSE TRANSMITTAL (RRT) 11-080. ALL APPLICABLE SOLD AND UN-SOLD RRT VIN's HAVE BEEN LOADED. TO VERIFY THAT THIS RRT SERVICE ACTION IS APPLICABLE TO THE VEHICLE, USE VIP OR PERFORM A VIN SEARCH IN TECHCONNECT. ALL REPAIRS ARE REIMBURSABLE WITHIN THE PROVISIONS OF WARRANTY.

SUBJECT:
Clock Loses Time, Audio Makes Popping Noise

OVERVIEW:
This Bulletin involves removing and replacing the Telematics Gateway (TGW)/ Radio.

MODELS:

2011 (JC) Journey

2011 (LD) Charger

2011 (LX) 300

NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles built before May 13, 2011 (MDH 0513XX) equipped with a UCONNECT TOUCH 4.3S CD/MP3/SAT (sales code REB) or a UCONNECT TOUCH 4.3 CD/MP3 (sales code RHA).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The radio's clock loses time and/or the audio system exhibits a popping sound.

DIAGNOSIS:
If the vehicles VIN is listed in VIP or your RRT VIN list, perform the repair.

NOTE:
Only perform the repair if the VIN is listed in VIP or your RRT VIN list.





PARTS REQUIRED:

NOTE:
YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO RETURN THE OLD RADIO. FAILURE TO RETURN THE OLD RADIO WILL RESULT IN A CHARGE TO YOUR DEALERSHIP

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Is the radio sales code REB?

a. YES >>> Access the Subscription Information Screen from the SAT screen of the currently installed REB radio and record the SIRIUS ID numbers for the receiver.

b. NO >> Proceed to Step # 2

2. Remove the radio. Refer to the procedures available in DealerConnect / TechCONNECT > Group 08 - Electrical > 8E - Electronic Control Modules > MODULE Telematics Gateway > Removal - REMOVAL.

3. Replace the Radio

4. Record the serial number of the radio to be installed in the vehicle

5. Install the Radio. Refer to the procedures available in DealerConnect / TechCONNECT > Group 08 - Electrical > 8E - Electronic Control Modules > MODULE, Telematics Gateway > Installation - INSTALLATION.

NOTE:
If prompted for a PIN code during the installation process call United Radio (1-800-448-0944) and provide the serial number recorded in Step # 4 to receive, and then enter, the Anti-Theft PIN code required to unlock the radio.

6. Is the radio sales code REB?

a. YES >>> Access the Subscription Information Screen from the SAT screen of the newly installed REB radio and record the SIRIUS ID numbers for the receiver.

b. NO >> Proceed to step Step # 8

7. Contact SIRIUS Satellite Radio at 888-539-7474 and transfer the new receiver to the customer's account.

8. Package the old radio in the packing materials that the new radio was received in and return it to United Radio.

Reimbursable within the provisions of the warranty.
