Rear
INSTALLATION
1. Clean rear timing belt cover O-ring sealing surfaces and grooves. Lubricate new O-rings (1) with Mopar(R) Dielectric Grease or equivalent to facilitate assembly.
2. Position NEW O-rings (1) on cover (2).
3. Install rear timing belt cover. Tighten nuts and bolts to the following specified torque:
- M10 (2, 4) - 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.)
- M8 (1) - 28 Nm (20 ft. lbs.)
4. Position water pump and new gasket.
5. Install water pump mounting bolts (3). Tighten to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.).
6. Install three power steering pump mounting bolts (3) through pulley. Tighten pump mounting bolts to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.).
7. Position generator (1) to engine and install two mounting bolts (2) and (3). Tighten both bolts to 57 Nm (42 ft. lbs.).
8. Snap field wire connector into rear of generator.
9. Install B+ terminal and nut to generator mounting stud. Tighten nut to 13 Nm (115 in. lbs.)
10. Snap plastic protective cover to B+ terminal.
11. Install camshaft sprockets (2 and 7) Timing Belt - Installation.
12. Install timing belt (4) Timing Belt - Installation.
13. Connect negative battery cable. Tighten nut to 5 Nm (45 in. lbs.).
14. Fill cooling system Service and Repair.
15. Operate engine until it reaches normal operating temperature. Check cooling system for correct fluid level.
