Cylinder Head - Inspection

INSPECTION





1. Check cylinder head warpage with a straight edge (2) and feeler gauge (1).
2. Cylinder head must be flat within specification Engine Specifications.
3. Verify that the valve tappets move freely in theirs bores and that they have been rotating.
4. Inspect camshaft bearing journals for scoring.
5. Remove carbon and varnish deposits from inside of valve guides with a reliable guide cleaner.
6. Inspect the following components and verify that they are within specification : Engine Specifications
- Camshafts
- Valve Tappets
- Springs
- Valve Seats
- Valve Guides
- Valves
