A/C - Won't Activate In Remote Start Mode

HELP USING THE wiTECH DIAGNOSTIC APPLICATION FOR FLASHING AN ECU IS
AVAILABLE BY SELECTING "HELP" THEN "HELP CONTENTS" AT THE TOP OF
THE wiTECH DIAGNOSTIC APPLICATION WINDOW.

THE wiTECH SOFTWARE LEVEL MUST BE AT RELEASE 13.01 OR HIGHER TO
PERFORM THIS PROCEDURE.

SUBJECT:
A/C Does not Activate While In Remote Start Mode

OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves flash reprogramming the Automatic Temperature Control Module (ATC).

MODELS:

2012 - 2013 (WD) Durango

2012 - 2013 (WK) Grand Cherokee

NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles equipped with Air Conditioning ATC with Dual Zone Control (Sales Code HAF) or ATC with 3 Zone Temperature Control (HAH) built between January 16, 2012 (MDH 0116XX) and August 8, 2012 (MDH 0808XX).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Customers may indicate that the A/C will not work when the vehicle is started using their remote start feature.

DIAGNOSIS:
Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in TechCONNECT, verify all other A/C functions operate as designed. If DTC's are present record them on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin.

If the above condition is present, perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Using the wiTECH Diagnostic Application for flashing a ATC is made available through the wiTECH Diagnostic Application. For instructions select the "HELP" tab on upper portion of the wiTECH window, then "HELP CONTENTS." This will open the Welcome to wiTECH Help screen were help topics can be selected.

2. Clear any DTC's that may have been set in other modules due to reprogramming. The wiTECH application will automatically present all DTCs after the flash and allow the tech to clear them.

3. Cycle the ignition switch.
