Sunroof Module (SUNR)
B210D-BATTERY VOLTAGE LOW
For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.
- When Monitored:
At all times.
- Set Condition:
Anytime the module senses voltage input below 9.0 volts (motor operating or not). After this code is set, it becomes stored when the voltage exceeds 9.1 volts.
1. CHECK ENGINE DTCs
NOTE: Make sure the battery is fully charged before proceeding.
1. With the scan tool, read ENGINE DTCs.
Are there any ENGINE BATTERY OR CHARGING SYSTEM DTCs present?
No
- Go To 2
Yes
- Perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure.
- For gas engine applications, Testing and Inspection.
2. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. With the scan tool, record and erase the DTCs.
2. Start the engine and run for two minutes.
3. Turn the ignition off.
4. Turn the ignition on.
5. With the scan tool, read the DTCs.
Does the scan tool display BATTERY VOLTAGE LOW in the Sunroof module only?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
3. CHECK THE SUNROOF MOTOR/MODULE
NOTE: To further diagnose the sunroof, it is necessary to lower or remove the headliner.
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Lower the headliner to gain access to the Sunroof Motor/Module connector.
3. Disconnect the Sunroof Motor/Module harness connector.
NOTE: Make sure the A-Pillar and all sunroof inline connectors are connected before proceeding.
4. Turn the ignition on.
5. Test for an open or high resistance on the (A906) Fused Ignition Switch Output circuit by connecting a 12-volt test light between the (A906) Fused Ignition Switch Output circuit and the (Z910) Ground circuit in the Sunroof Motor/Module harness connector. The test light must illuminate brightly. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
Yes
- Replace the Sunroof Motor/Module.
- Perform the Drive Motor Teach procedure. Programming and Relearning.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Go To 4
4. CHECK (A906) FUSED IGNITION SWITCH OUTPUT AND (Z910) GROUND CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN
1. Using a 12-volt test light connected to 12 volts, probe the (Z910) Ground circuit in the Sunroof Motor/Module harness connector. The test light must illuminate brightly. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
Yes
- Repair the (A906) Fused Ignition Switch Output circuit for an open or high resistance.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Repair the (Z910) Ground circuit for an open or high resistance.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
