B2341-11-FRONT/REAR WASHER MOTOR (-) CONTROL - CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND





For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.

- When Monitored:
With the ignition on.

With the Rear Washer Pump Motor on for short to ground check.

With the Rear Washer Pump Motor off for short to voltage check.

- Set Condition:
When the Body Control Module (BCM) detects a short on the Rear Washer Pump Motor Control circuit.





1. INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, clear DTCs.
3. Turn the Rear Windshield Washers on and off.
4. With the scan tool, read the DTCs.

Does the scan tool read: B2341-11-FRONT/REAR WASHER MOTOR (-) CONTROL - CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- The condition that caused the symptom is currently not present. Inspect the related wiring for a possible intermittent condition. Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched, or partially broken wires.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

2. ATTEMPT TO SET THE OPPOSITE DTC
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Washer Pump Motor harness connector.
3. Turn the ignition on.
4. Turn the Rear Windshield Washers on and off.
5. With the scan tool, read the DTCs.

Does the scan tool read: B2341-13-FRONT/REAR WASHER MOTOR (-) CONTROL - CIRCUIT OPEN?

Yes

- Replace the Washer Pump Motor. . Service and Repair
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Go To 3

3. CHECK THE (W20) REAR WASHER PUMP MOTOR CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE




1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the BCM A harness connector.
3. Turn the ignition on.
4. Measure the voltage between ground and the (W20) Rear Washer Pump Motor Control circuit.

Is there any voltage present?

Yes

- Repair the short to voltage in the (W20) Rear Washer Pump Motor Control circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Go To 4

4. CHECK THE (W10)/(W20) WASHER PUMP MOTOR CONTROL CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TOGETHER




1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Measure the resistance between the (W10) and (W20) Washer Pump Motor Control circuits.

Is the resistance above 10k Ohms?

Yes

- Go To 5

No

- Repair the short between the (W10) and (W20) Washer Pump Motor Control circuits.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

5. CHECK THE (W20) REAR WASHER PUMP MOTOR CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND




1. Measure the resistance between ground and the (W20) Rear Washer Pump Motor Control circuit.

Is the resistance above 10k Ohms?

Yes

- Replace the BCM. Body Control Module - Removal.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Repair the short to ground in the (W20) Rear Washer Pump Motor Control circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
