Drivetrain Control Module (DTCM)

- When Monitored:
Continuously with the ignition on.
- Set Condition:
When the Drive Train Control Module (DTCM) detects an incorrect CAN messages from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) or the Body Control Module (BCM).
1. CHECK IF BCM CAN BUS DTC'S ARE PRESENT
1. With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.
Are there any BCM CAN BUS DTC's present?
Yes
- Perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure. . Testing and Inspection
No
- Go To 2
2. CHECK IF ENGINE DTC'S ARE PRESENT
1. With the scan tool, read Engine DTCs.
Are there any Engine DTC's present?
Yes
- Perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure. Testing and Inspection or . Testing and Inspection
No
- Using the schematics as a guide, check the DTCM pins, terminals, and connectors for corrosion, damage, or terminal push out. Pay particular attention to all power and ground circuits. If no problems are found, replace the Drive Train Control Module (DTCM). Drivetrain Control Module - Removal.
- Perform the DTCM VERIFICATION TEST. DTCM Verification Test.
