Instrument Panel Pad - Installation

INSTALLATION





1. With the help of an assistant, position the instrument panel top pad (1) to the I/P structure.
2. Lift the instrument panel (1) up and forward to seat the passenger side airbag into the structure bracket.
3. Hand tap the top pad to engage the retaining clips.





4. Install the fasteners (1, 2) securing the top pad to the structure. Tighten the fasteners securely. Repeat on opposite side.
5. Connect and install the light switch.
6. Install the fastener (4) securing the light switch to the instrument panel.





7. Position, connect and install the four plastic retainers that secure the instrument panel bin (1) to the instrument panel.





8. Position the floor console (2) into the vehicle.
9. Align and push the floor console (2) rearward to engage the retaining tab (1) from the floor bracket (3).





10. Install the fastener (1) to the front of the floor console. Tighten the fastener securely.





11. Install the passenger side airbag, Passenger Air Bag - Installation.
12. Install the three top pad to structure fasteners (3) located in the upper glove box cavity area. Tighten the fasteners securely.
13. Position the upper glove box door (1) to the instrument panel.
14. Install the fasteners (1, 2) to the upper glove box door (1). Tighten the fasteners securely.





15. If equipped, install the USB connector to the upper glove box and position the glove box (1) into the cavity. Make sure all the retaining clips are engaged.
16. Install the fasteners (2, 3, 4, 5, 6) from the upper glove box (1). Tighten the fasteners securely.





17. Install the trim bezel (2) to the instrument panel.
18. Install the fasteners (1) to the instrument panel trim bezel (2). Tighten the fasteners securely.
19. Close the upper glove box door.





20. Install the lower glove box (1), Instrument Panel Glove Box - Installation.





21. Position the silencer to the instrument panel.
22. Install the push-pin retainers (1) and screws that secure the silencer (3) to the passenger side of the instrument panel (2).





23. Install the two top pad to structure fasteners (1) located in the radio cavity area. Tighten the fasteners securely.





24. Install the two top pad to structure fasteners (1) located in the HVAC control cavity area. Tighten the fasteners securely.





25. Connect the HVAC controls, clock and install the center bezel (2) to the instrument panel.
26. Install the radio (1).





27. Install the radio bezel (1).





28. Install the six fasteners (1) securing the instrument panel top pad to the structure. Tighten the fasteners securely.





29. Position and install the instrument panel top cover (1). Make sure to engage all retaining tabs.





30. Install the left and right side A-pillar trim panels (1), A-Pillar Trim Panel - Installation.





31. Install the gearshift cable (1, 2) to the shifter.





32. Install the steering column as an assembly, Steering Column - Installation.





33. Position and install the steering column opening cover (1) to the instrument panel.
34. Install the screw located on the outboard side attaching the steering column opening cover (1) to the instrument panel structure. Tighten the screw securely.





35. Install the screws (1) to the steering column opening cover. The screws are located near the hood release handle. Tighten the screws securely.





36. Install the end cap (1) to the instrument panel. Repeat on opposite side.
37. Install the lower cowl trim panel, Cowl Trim Panel - Installation. Repeat on opposite side.
38. Install the shifter knob, Gearshift Knob - Installation.
39. Connect the negative battery cable.
