B21FB
B21FB-IGNITION FOBIK REMOVAL INHIBIT UNLOCK
For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.
Theory of Operation
The Wireless Ignition Node (WIN) detects an internal problem in the module. The WIN performs an internal self test on the Key Lock Solenoid circuit. The purpose of the internal Key Lock Solenoid is to prohibit the FOBIK from being removed from the module if the shifter is in any other position other than Park. The repair of this fault condition does not involve any external circuitry and centers on verifying the integrity of the internal circuitry and software validity.
- When Monitored:
Continuously.
- Set Conditions:
The Wireless Ignition Node has detected an internal fault.
Diagnostic Test
REPLACE THE WIN IF THE DTC IS ACTIVE
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, record and erase the WIN DTCs.
3. Apply the service brakes and shift the transmission from park to all other gears several times.
4. Turn the ignition off.
5. Apply the service brakes and try to shift the transmission from park to other gears.
6. Turn the ignition on and wait 30 seconds.
7. With the scan tool, read the active DTCs.
Does the scan tool display: B21FC-IGNITION FOBIK REMOVAL INHIBIT LOCK?
Yes
NOTE: If this vehicle is equipped with a Steering Wheel lock Module (Export), it MUST be replaced also.
- Replace the Wireless Ignition Node (WIN). Wireless Ignition Node Receiver - Removal.
- If equipped, replace the Steering Column Lock Module. Shaft Lock Module - Removal.
- Perform the Wireless Ignition Node (WIN) VERIFICATION TEST. Wireless Ignition Node (WIN) Verification Test.
No
- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
