B182C-13
B182C-13-ALL DOOR LOCK CONTROL - CIRCUIT OPEN
For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.
Theory of Operation
After receiving the appropriate requests over the communication network, the Body Control Module (BCM) controls an internal relay to provide voltage to all the Door Lock Motors on the Door Lock Driver circuit. The return path is provided through the Door Lock Control circuit. For additional information on Power Locks operation, Power Locks - Operation.
- When Monitored:
With the ignition on.
- Set Condition:
When the Body Control Module senses an open condition on the Door Lock Control circuit for more than one second.
Diagnostic Test
1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. Lock and unlock the doors.
3. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test .
2. CHECK THE (P777) DOOR LOCK CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
NOTE: This DTC is set when all the door lock motors are inoperative. Check for an open between the BCM and splices.
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the BCM F harness connector.
3. Measure the resistance of the (P777) Door Lock Control circuit between the BCM F harness connector and one of the door lock motors.
Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Replace the Body Control Module (BCM). Body Control Module - Removal.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test .
No
- Repair the open in the (P777) Door Lock Control circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test .
